The Silence of Saturday

The silence of Holy Saturday with its seeming inactivity reminds us that during the "gaps" in life we must not suppose that God is either absent or inactive. When life pauses inexplicably we must not query that God has abandoned our project or forsaken us. Resurrection is coming but first there will always be a testing of faith and confidence... Hope is not doubting in the darkness what God has promised in the light. Real hope is revealed in the quality of our "wait" in the delays that often come. Remember, silent Saturday became the precursor that prepared the world for the roar of victory that issued from the Garden Tomb on Sunday morning when hope broke through.
