03/19/2023 - Building Bridges for Those Who Will Follow

Join me tomorrow for my Sunday Message, "Building Bridges for Those Who Will Follow." The statistics are grim. The National Association of Evangelicals has said for many years that the likelihood of someone finding Christ and making Him their Savior after early adolescence is meager at best. 80% of Christians received Christ before the age of 14. Of the remaining 20%, only 1 in 8 will get saved before death. In addition, we are told that only 1 in 11 "Millennials" (23-42) will admit to having any regular corporate spiritual experience of ANY KIND, and only 4% of those are true evangelical Christians.

So, what are we, the established church, doing to aggressively reach these lost persons in our culture? Are we indeed building "bridges" to help them get to the other side? A true bridgebuilder is someone who exemplifies true faith even in the midst of crisis,

leaves behind a legacy of faith for others to copy, takes the necessary steps, makes the necessary sacrifices to leave behind a “bridge of faith” over the chasms of doubt, fear and frustration.

They are pathfinders, way-makers, pioneers, and trailblazers.

Moses was and is an example of a bridgebuilder and the "faith Hall of Fame" in Hebrews 11 documents this well. Moses knew his history, where he came from, his identity, who he was and where he lived, and his destiny, where he was going. Along the way he accomplished the purposes of God for his life and left behind a legacy of faith in Joshua that enabled him to lead the people of Israel into the Promised Land.
